I have a love/hate relationship with Glossybox. It was my first ever subscription box I used.
However I think sometimes they can be a bit hit and miss.. So I tend to just order the limited edition boxes or wait for reviews on the boxes to come out until I order them.
I loved the theme of the April box. I think its such a good idea for a themed box.
Firstly, the box design is stunning isn’t it?
I love the quote inside the box lid:
“We are all of us stars and we deserve to twinkle” – Marilyn Monroe.
I think this is a really nice touch and finishes off the whole theme nicely.
IDC Scent Garden Country Rose Body Lotion
I love love love red lips. So I was excited when Glossybox revealed that every box would receive a Lord & Berry Lip Crayon in Kiss (red).
I think red lips are such a classic look and really tie in with the Hollywood glam theme of this beauty box.
According to the website this product is supposed to be:
“A super power-pigment pencil that delivers an intense shot of colour to your pout,” and “Long-lasting ‘crayon lipstick’ uses extra pigments for an immense payoff.”
I had never tried out ‘lip crayons’ before.I have tried this lip crayon out and it is a beautiful bold red colour but as its matte it is very drying so I would suggest wearing a lip gloss over the top. I tend to have quite dry lips anyway so I much prefer a more moisturising lipstick over this lipsticks like this one by Lord & Berry.
Next up was a product from another brand I’ve never heard of: IDC Scent Garden Country Rose Body Lotion. This smells absolutely gorgeous. So fresh and delicate.
I’m looking forward to using this a lot!
Then there’s the Astral Moisturiser. I actually received this in another beauty box recently. I hadn’t heard of this brand before then.
It is a good moisturiser – which isn’t easily said by me as I have the driest skin imaginable.
Its a decent size for testing out too. I’m not sure if I would repurchase but I do like the product.
Next there’s the Colour Club Nail Polish.
I like the colour of this nail polish because its a nude, natural colour so it will go with everything. I haven’t tested out longevity of this nail polish yet but it does seem like it is good quality and the shade is so pretty.
Eyeliners seem very popular in beauty boxes recently – don’t you think? I don’t mind really because eyeliner is something I wear on a daily basis. So I know I will use this product at some point. I haven’t used anything from the brand Pop Beauty before so it will be nice to try out a new brand too.
I’m not sure if I will use the other end of this eyeliner though. To be honest I’m not 100% sure what it is supposed to be used for.
Also, of course, the eyeliner cat flick is one of the most classic make up looks around – so this definitely fits in with the Hollywood theme of the box.
Overall, I like this months box – mainly because of the box design and theme. But I will wait until reviews come out for next month until I commit to subscribing again. The love/hate relationship continues!
