On the 23rd February, me and my boyfriend Tom stayed and dined at the Malmaison Hotel in Manchester. The trip was a late Valentines celebration/treat for us both. We have stayed at the Malmaison previous for my 19th Birthday (which seems like a life time ago now) so I knew the hotel was lovely already.
I had however never tried the food/drinks so I was excited to try this out.
Pictured above are the cocktails we had. I love cocktails when dining out!
The one on the left (mine) is a Daiquiri and the one on the right (Tom’s) is an Amaretto Sour.
Daiquiri is my go to holiday drink so I knew I was going to enjoy it. The ingredients are: Appleton White Rum, Lime & Sugar. Amaretto Sour is also a favourite of mine and Tom’s. The ingredients are: Disaronno, Lemon, Egg White & Sugar. My second cocktail was an Amaretto Sour. Couldn’t resist! (Ingredients stated are according to the website menu)
The cocktail menu is quite extensive ranging from classic cocktails to unique house cocktails. I like the fact that they had a large range to choose from. The prices range from £9-12.50 per cocktail so if you were planning on staying on cocktails all night it could get expensive. But generally I stick to two cocktails and move onto shorts so this didn’t bother me.
For my main course I had the Louisiana Burger which consisted of: buttermilk fried chicken, lettuce, tomato, peanut butter sauce and pommes frites. (The pommes frites a.k.a chips came separately)
I have to admit I wasn’t blown away with this course but I feel this is because I’m not a huge burger fan so it would have to be amazing for me to re-order again. It was enjoyable enough but I would try something else next time.
This course was £14. (Tom had the same as me)
And finally this is our room!
The pictures don’t really do it justice. The room was really spacious and lovely. The vibe of the room was definitely very modern but comfy and inviting.
As you can see, the colour scheme is white and grey with red details to add some colour.
Again, as you can see the bathroom is ultra modern with the same colour scheme as the room. (There was also a shower cubicle to the left hand side)
I enjoyed my stay at the Malmaison Hotel so I definitely would stay there again. On a final note, I do also have to mention the staff as they were all very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend the Malmaison if your looking for an affordable but upmarket hotel.
