Review // MAC Nutcracker Sweet Nude Lipstick Kit

This gift set from MAC is part of the Christmas collection. Christmas beauty gift sets are my favourite of all time as they always look amazing. Plus I love everything to do with Christmas!

As well as this, the Christmas gifts sets are they are usually great value for money.
This set retails for £26 which I think is a good price for four MAC lipsticks. Especially considering they usually retail for £15 each.
Of course, the lipsticks in this set are smaller than usual but you have to expect this with the price.

I also like the fact that the box the lipsticks come in can be used again as it is made of plastic rather than paper or cardboard.

The packaging is cute and I love the colours. I like the fact that they are smaller than the normal sized MAC lipsticks are they are easier to carry in smaller handbags on a night out as they don’t take up too much room.
Here are the swatches of the lipstick colours:
From left to right:
Creme Cup
Kinda Sexy
Nouvelle Vogue
3 of the shades are matte and one is a cremesheen. (Creme cup is the cremesheen lipstick)
I am usually a red lipstick kind of girl but I decided I wanted to try out the nude collection over the red. (Because I have thousands of red lipsticks!)
My favourite shade is Nouvelle Vogue. It looks quite barbie pink in the picture but it is much more subtle on your lips.
Creme cup is very subtle – more like a lipgloss or lip sheen. This is great for work or a simple everyday look.
Kinda sexy is a orangey/pink shade. I think this shade would look great in Spring/Summer.
Whirl is a deep brown shade. I’m not sure how I feel about this colour on me as I’m very pale. I think its slightly better suited to someone with darker/tanned skin.
Matte lipsticks are occasionally quite drying on your lips I find. Therefore I was pleasantly surprised when I tried out the matte shades as they sit on your lips well and don’t feel too dry.
Overall I am pleased with this set and would buy it again.
What do you think of this set?
