Travel // York Weekend Away Part One

York is one of my favourite places to visit in the UK. It is such a gorgeous place to be.
I’ve visited York many times with family – but its quite special for me because its the place which reminds me of the first few months of being with my Boyfriend. So we decided to celebrate our one year anniversary here!

I love how in the centre of York there’s lot of little cobbled streets with quaint, old fashioned style shops. I could walk around York all day long. I love shopping anyway but shopping in York is a whole other level for me!
I really like the mix of high street shops and independent shops.
I really love visiting Cath Kidston whenever I’m in York as they have the most beautiful pieces.
I  always try and buy presents for my family when I go away and I actually bought my Nan a pretty mug from Cath Kidston as she shares my love for Cath Kidston.
The york sweet shop
I bought my Mum some bath bombs from Lush, my Dad a CD from HMV and my little brother some rock from the cutest sweet shop – The York Sweet Shop!
This is my favourite ever sweet shop as I love the vintage, old fashioned style of it. Plus the prices aren’t too bad either – its definitely worth having a look in there if you are ever in York.

The weather in York was so beautiful. It was pretty much sunny all weekend – which is perfect weather for a weekend away!
I even got to test out my gorgeous Carmen Sunglasses by Jeepers Peepers*.
I really like these sunglasses as they are retro in style with the classic cat eye shape and tortoise shell print.
They retail for around £18.00 which isn’t bad at all for a good pair of sunglasses!
They also came with the cutest soft cloth sunglasses case which has ‘I love Jeepers Peepers’ written all over it.
Having a case for my sunglasses is really important to me as I always chuck my sunglasses in my bag and end up scratching them, so the soft cloth case is really handy.
We went for a curry at a place called Jinnah close to our hotel.
I loved the chic decoration inside – it looked quite high end.
I really like restaurants that pay attention to little details as I think it just improves the whole look and feel of the place.
I had a chicken tikka balti and my Boyfriend has a lamb tikka madras.
The food was so gorgeous!
We actually went there a couple of times over the weekend because it was so nice and reasonable in terms of price.
I love love love York and thoroughly enjoyed my weekend.
